2022: A Year of Community Involvement

2022 was a busy time for community involvement and exciting celebrations! From sponsoring local events to supporting organizations through donation drives, we’re recapping our favorite memories from the last 12 months. A few highlights include:

  • Supporting the MOV Foster Children Hygiene Drive, where we worked closely with Dr. Hawkins from Smiles on the Boulevard and Jackie S. from Mid-Ohio Valley Anchor Realty. Dr. Hawkins donated 100 toothbrushes and toothpaste and Jackie picked up and donated items to the drive.
  • To help support local foster children, Kim Jobes, our loan officer, donated blankets to the Mid-Ohio Valley Anchor Realty donation drive on behalf of the bank.
  • Our team and local partners worked together to help fill donation baskets with everyday necessities for those in need. Smiles on the Boulevard, Wilfong Dental, and Belk in Vienna donated dental and personal care items for the donation baskets.

Summer was a busy time in our communities, too! In June, we sponsored hanging baskets in Parkersburg and Belpre for the Beautify Belpre project and Parkersburg project. The Parkersburg project is run by Downtown PKB, a group devoted to revitalizing and investing in the downtown area. The summer wouldn’t be complete without an outing to the Belpre Homecoming Festival in August, where we were the Fireworks Sponsor!

In support of Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley, our team also helped build a home for the Women Build 2022 event in August. Volunteerism is at the root of our mission and helping a local family realize their dream of owning a home came true during this project.

Throughout the busy year, our team members visited local chambers, furthered their education and networked with community members. For example, Tammy Belcher, bank president, talked through our commitment to our neighborhoods at the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast event, while Meagan Conley, Parkersburg branch manager, graduated from the Ohio Bankers League Bank Management School and the West Virginia Bankers Association School of Branch Management! We also received the Spirit of the Community Award during the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner for our contribution to improving our community.

To end the year with a bang, we hosted a 12 Days of Giving giveaway on our Facebook page, where we gave away 12 $50 gift cards to local businesses.
